Description
The Alproof equipped with Alpride E2 avalanche airbag system and the very latest supercapacitor technology deploys reliably, quickly and at high pressure, even in freezing cold temperatures. With multiple deployments possible, easy handling, and a quick-access avalanche equipment compartment, plus superior carry comfort and a snug fit with zero load wobble, the result is a controlled backcountry ride every time. A leg safety strap prevents the pack from being ripped off in an avalanche, while a helmet bag, gear straps and gear loops make this TÜV-inspected avalanche airbag backpack a serious mountaineering pack too.
LATEST AIRBAG TECHNOLOGY FOR MORE SAFETY
The updated, fully electronic Alpride E2 avalanche airbag system, which features the latest supercapacitor technology, is one of the lightest electronic systems on the market and unaffected by low temperatures. In addition to fast, high-pressure deployment, this proven technology has huge advantages when it comes to maintenance and transport compared to traditional cartridge-powered airbags. An LED status display and trigger action on the outside of the bag makes it easy to assess the system and activate it. Operation is extremely intuitive and is easy to learn during pre-season practice sessions.

Got this pack at the start of the 2022/2023 season. First airbag for me. Wanted the supercapacitor technology for the ability to practice and have multiple pulls (don’t want to hesitate thinking I only have one go a day) without cost of cannisters, and was keen on the lighter weight compared to Li-ion battery technology. Was anxious about the additional weight of the airbag components compared to a regular backpack, and the pack did feel heavy in the hand when empty, but the pack feels fine when loaded on my back and skiing, to the point where it seems like magic (the weight penalty of the airbag components seem to disappear when I load the rest of my gear). The pack carriers really well, and feels tight to my back while not just skinning but skiing, though I wish there were some cinch straps on the waistbelt (between pack and hip), instead of just having the central cinch at the main waistbelt buckle. I have also been delighted at how with all the pockets on the pack I can miraculously fit all my gear (though I have not yet gone out with my massive down jacket that I bring for really cold weather – this would eat up a lot of space and may be troublesome, in which case on such days I might have to leave other stuff at home, or bring a bigger pack). Overall I really like the pack.
