Recall of our Micro Star children’s sleeping bag
As backpack pioneers and sleeping bag experts, with over 125 years’ experience, at deuter we take our responsibilities seriously – especially when it comes to children’s safety. Which is why we’ve decided to carry out a product recall for our Micro Star children’s sleeping bag, which was launched in March 2025.
As part of our in-house quality controls and thanks to feedback from users, we have determined that smaller children could slide down fully into the sleeping bag. This may lead to a potentially dangerous breathing situation – especially if the sleeping bag is being used unsupervised.
Which product does this affect?
The following children’s sleeping bag is affected by the product recall:
deuter Micro Star
Sold from March 2025 via our online store and through brick-and-mortar retail stores & online.
Product identification numbers (on the label inside the sleeping bag):
- 3722025-2293
- 3722025-9908
- 3722025-1399
Important: All other deuter sleeping bags and products are not affected and can continue to be used safely.
What is the Issue?
In some cases, children could slide fully into the Micro Star while they sleep. The neck (or head opening) of the inner sleeping bag is stretchy and can overextend. As a result, children can slip down into the sleeping bag, posing a risk of suffocation. The danger is increased when the inner and outer sleeping bags are used together, as the neck opening of the outer bag is also designed to extend.
What should I do if I own one of these sleeping bags?
- Please stop using it.
- Return it – return to retailer you bought it from or contact us (see below).
- Receive refund – you will be given a full refund of the purchase price

Please take your sleeping bag back to the store you bought it from or contact the customer service department of online retailers.
