A turning point at Colltex… Colltex ag was owned by the Fischli family of Glarus for more than 70 years and has now passed into new hands. Effective April 1st, 2015, the company has been taken over by Irene Hauser, for many years Sales Manager and now CEO of Colltex, and Richard Bolt, mountain guide, and entrepreneur. Both are at home in the world of sports brands and well-connected, and both have long years of business experience and are active touring skiers. Their goal is to lead the Colltex brand into a successful future with new ideas and innovative products.

A climbing skin is a highly technical product requiring specialized engineering expertise, highly differentiated material knowledge and the latest know-how of production engineering. From the outset, Colltex® gave top priority to these requirements and, therefore, established its own technical laboratory. Its choice of top-quality materials, the most modern and environmentally sound and sustainable production methods, and the introduction of a consistent quality control turned Colltex® into a world-renowned high-quality product.

Benefits

Speed. Pile length, mohair quality, adhesive spreading, water impermeability and its extremely light construction meet the requirements of professional racers for a super-fast skin of minimal weight.

100% Dry. A waterproof membrane makes sure that Colltex® skins will remain dry even in wet snow or on long ski tours. In addition, their pile is treated to be water-repellent.

SLF Tested. For the sake of quality assurance and to further develop the Colltex® skins, their climbing and gliding properties are regularly reviewed by the WSL Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research (SLF), Davos.

Colltex edge+®. The high-tech material, prevents lateral fraying. This renders any edge sealing superfluous. Ideal for those who size and trim their Colltex® skins themselves.

100% Grip. The length of the pile and its weave play a crucial role in the climbing properties of the skins. With its proprietary weave, Colltex® assures a secure grip while climbing.
